Welcome to Enigmatic~Drawings

Upon viewing the drawings, the reaction for most, is usually one of astonishment and intrigue but for some; it is a profound experience.

Without a frame of reference, it is difficult to find the words that could encapsulate what these drawings are or the experience they engender in the observer.

The wise adage; “ a picture is worth a thousand words” is very apt in this instance and perhaps so much more.

The drawings are unique, inexplicable and yet familiar and Self-Evident to many people. The following excerpt from an email serves as a practical and eloquent example of the general consensus expressed about the drawings:

"One aspect I am sure of, this is not so much art, as an expression of information in visual form, which carries more than language can express. The content is sophisticated and expresses knowledge beyond most known concepts" (Nov/10/VK)

The drawings were first publicly available via the website and social media in 2011, attracting a global audience from over 80-countries and almost 2,000-cities with millions of picture views to date. A significant and immensely diverse audience and yet, the reactions and descriptions are universal and unbound, albeit uniquely expressed.

The drawings began spontaneously on January 20, 2001 and the artist/author (George) had no artistic experience or inclination prior to commencing these drawings and this body of work represent the sum-total of his work to date.

George offers the drawings without explanation or opinion and prefers the focus to be on the drawings and their content. It is for this reason, the name "Enigmatic Drawings" was conceived and used rather than his own name upon making the drawings publicly available.

It is with pleasure that we bring you this update to let you know that Enigmatic~Drawings' website, Facebook-page and other social networks are going to be revamped to create a more fluid, interactive, inclusive experience.

~This will include new information about the drawings, videos/slide-shows will be created to make visible the otherwise hidden intricacies this digital-medium conceals and a forum to serve as a platform for the enumerable interpretations & experiences expressed by our very insightful & extremely diverse global audience.
~Furthermore, due to the nature of the drawings, it is impossible to fully grasp or appreciate these works by viewing them on a computer screen and to that end, Enigmatic~Drawings will soon be available from selected outlets around the world.
~Most of the current display images & many of the prints will be replaced & various new & interesting products will also be added to our catalogue. These additions will serve to expand the manner & form the drawings will be expressed, displayed & experienced.
~Additionally, the next phase/generation of drawings will be displayed as work in-progress, thus enabling our audience to view the latest works in real-time. The release of the new works is imminent...
~Finally, an "EVENT" will be created in due-course & you are invited offer your valued insights & feedback. Those participants will receive our deepest thanks & the opportunity to obtain many of the products at or near cost as an expression of our gratitude.
