Cobalt Origins is a cropped square derivative from Third Series — Origins, concentrating the intricate circular architecture and symbolic detail of the larger composition into a richly saturated, balanced format.
The artwork is dominated by intense cobalt, ultramarine and deep navy blue, illuminated by passages of turquoise, cyan, violet, magenta and white. A large central circular structure contains orbital and atom-like geometries, surrounded by successive bands of smaller circles, symbols and finely repeated forms. Bright turquoise helix-like structures extend inward from the edges and corners, connecting the central mandala with the densely populated surrounding field.
From a distance, the composition reads as a luminous geometric mandala. At closer range, it reveals hundreds of smaller symbolic forms, recurring patterns and intricately layered details.
The image is reproduced on archival-quality fine art canvas and presented in a custom handmade white timber floating frame constructed using conservation-grade framing materials. A narrow space between the canvas and frame creates the characteristic floating effect, allowing the artwork to appear visually suspended within the frame.
This cropped 60 × 60 cm canvas presentation has now been discontinued. Only two final framed display-stock examples remain available, and no further examples will be produced in this particular canvas and framing format.
The installation photograph shows both available works displayed together. The listed price is for one framed canvas artwork.
This work is included in the Enigmatic Drawings Display Stock Sale, reduced from AUD $750 to AUD $400 each.
Please note: The photographs show the actual framed display-stock artworks. Ambient lighting, camera settings and the angle of photography may affect the apparent colour, contrast and clarity. The physical canvases are more vibrant, detailed and luminous when viewed directly.
