Created in watercolour and gouache on 300gsm watercolour paper, the circular mandala has been individually cut around its outer edge and floated approximately 5mm above the backing surface. This creates a subtle shadow and dimensional effect within the frame.
The composition features concentric bands of pale blue, navy and blue-grey, moving between soft outer tones and a darker central structure. The restrained monochromatic palette gives the work a calm, contemplative and quietly architectural character.
The intricate hand-worked pattern creates a strong sense of rhythm, depth and subtle visual movement.
