Genesis #5 marks an important development within First Series — Genesis, presenting a single frontal human figure immersed within a densely populated cosmic field.
The figure appears transparent or permeable, with circular forms, planetary bodies, orbital paths and symbolic structures visible both within and around the body. Rather than separating the human figure from the surrounding space, the composition allows anatomy and cosmos to occupy the same continuous field.
A strong vertical alignment runs through the figure, while repeated circles, planets, rings and atmospheric structures create relationships between the body and the wider surrounding environment.
The work is one of the earliest Genesis drawings to explore visually the relationship between human form and larger cosmological structure, moving the series beyond the body as an isolated figure and toward the idea of the body existing within — and as part of — a larger system.
This archival giclée fine-art reproduction preserves the detailed monochrome linework, tonal relationships and intricate symbolic structure of the original drawing. The raised-mat presentation gives the work additional depth and separation within the frame.
