Matrix is the central architectural work of the Enigmatic Drawings trilogy, developed between 2007 and 2012. It extends the visual language established in Genesis into a much larger system of embodiment, polarity, information, coding, geometry and planetary structure.
At the centre of the composition is a dominant vertical helical column that functions as the structural spine of the work. It can be read visually as DNA-like, spinal, energetic and axial at the same time, linking the upper source field with the lower planetary field. On either side, male and female figures face inward toward the central structure, creating a strong bilateral relationship around the main axis.
The surrounding architecture is extraordinarily dense. Chambers, cylindrical forms, grids, triangular divisions, script-bearing panels, medallions and repeated geometric structures create the impression of a complete coded environment rather than a conventional figurative composition.
At the upper centre is a diamond-shaped creation field containing an atomic or singularity-like form, while Earth anchors the composition at the lower edge within a broader planetary structure.
The drawing is also notable for its perceptual ambiguity. Certain cylindrical and vortical structures can appear to rotate, reverse, project forward or recede depending on how they are viewed, making perception itself part of the experience of the work.
At 192 × 125 cm framed, this is a substantial large-format presentation. The scale allows the central figures, helical structure and principal architectural elements to remain immediately legible while revealing the much finer script, layered geometries and repeated internal systems at closer range.
The archival canvas is stretched on kiln-dried plantation-pine stretcher bars and presented in a custom white timber floating frame, creating a narrow visual separation between the edge of the canvas and the surrounding frame.
This artwork forms part of the Enigmatic Drawings Art Display Stock Sale collection.
Photography note: Product images may include clean reproductions of Matrix together with photographs of the actual framed display-stock work shown in situ at Netanya Noosa. Ambient lighting, reflections and viewing angle may affect apparent colour and contrast. The physical canvas contains substantially finer detail than can be reproduced on screen.
