Origins — Cobalt is a cropped near-square colour derivative from Third Series — Origins, concentrating the intricate circular architecture and symbolic density of the larger composition into a compact framed format.
The work is dominated by cobalt, ultramarine and deep navy blue, illuminated by turquoise, cyan, violet, magenta and white. At its centre is a large circular formation containing layered orbital and geometric structures, surrounded by dense fields of smaller circles, script-like markings and repeated symbolic forms.
Bright turquoise helix-like structures extend inward from the outer field, linking the central formation with the surrounding composition and reinforcing the radial movement of the work.
At this smaller scale, the composition retains the visual intensity and intricate structure of Origins while creating a compact piece suited to smaller walls, grouped displays or pairing with other works from the series.
