Genesis No. 10 represents a major structural shift within George Allan’s First Series — Genesis.
Unlike the preceding Genesis drawings, which retain a human face, body or identifiable witnessing figure as their central organising element, Genesis No. 10 removes the human form completely. In its place is a large circular structure organised around a small central nucleus and expanding outward through numerous concentric layers.
Hundreds of circular units populate the larger field, increasing in scale toward the outer boundary and containing extensive script-like and symbolic internal detail. Fine radial connections link the concentric layers back toward the centre, creating a highly ordered structure based on repetition, expansion and radial symmetry.
Around the perimeter, repeated looping and helical forms extend beyond the principal circular boundary, preventing the composition from appearing completely closed and introducing a strong sense of continuation beyond the visible field.
Within the progression of Genesis, No. 10 marks an important movement away from the individual human figure and toward a broader structural field. Its concentric organisation, repeated symbolic units, radial connections and dense internal patterning give the work a markedly different character from the earlier body-centred Genesis drawings.
At approximately 44 × 60 cm visible image size, this rolled canvas print provides an approximately A2-format presentation of the work while retaining the strong radial organisation and extensive internal detail of the original drawing.
The artwork is supplied unframed and rolled, with additional canvas surrounding the visible image area for professional stretching and wrapping.
This is a signed fine-art print. It is not individually numbered and is not part of the numbered Fine Art Limited Edition format.
This artwork forms part of the Enigmatic Drawings Art Display Stock Sale collection.
Photography note: Product images show the actual artwork where available. Ambient lighting, camera white balance and image processing can affect apparent colour and contrast. The physical canvas contains finer detail than can be reproduced accurately on screen.
